Councillor
Shelagh Leyland
I am Shelagh Leyland. I was the Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer from 2014 – Sept 2026. I then swapped seats to become a councillor. I’ve lived in Bolton since 2012. I initially trained as a GP, but following an MBA in international health development, I then worked as a consultant in the international aid business before returning to GP work in 2004, retiring in 2012. As well as England, I’ve lived and worked in Nepal, Vanuatu, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Belgium. My aim is to make Bolton a desirable place for people of all ages to live.
